Diabetes and Endocrinology Institute

The Diabetes and Endocrinology Institute (DEI) is a service of University Community Health and has two locations: University Community Hospital and University Community Hospital - Carrollwood, DEI provides comprehensive diabetes management for people in the Tampa Bay area. It is an American Diabetes Association Recognized Program.

Diabetes is a chronic disease with no known cure, but research has shown that proper care and management of blood glucose can greatly reduce the risk of developing complications.

The DEI uses a team approach, with programs staffed by Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) in the specialties of nursing, nurse practitioners, dietitians and exercise specialists. Physicians specializing in diabetes care are an integral part of this comprehensive program.
